This is the personal website of Jeremy Meeks. I'm the director of the Chicago Course on Preaching, part of the Simeon Trust. I also serve as the Assistant Pastor for Ministry Apprenticeships at Christ Church Chicago. I did my PhD on how Augustine reorients human desires for sexual fulfilment with sex robots. Seriously. If you want to read it, contact me.Here you will find my recorded sermons, reading recommendations on preaching, rhetoric, and ethics, along with a host of other stuff. As for the title of this website...for an explanation you will have to do some research.
Since I don't preach at the same church regularly anymore, it can be a challenge to track down my sermons. I thought it might be helpful to house them in one location.Note - I update these every few months, so the most recent sermons may not be on here. Additionally, I began this in 2025, so I won't be delving into the archives.2026

I love lists. I also strive to be relentlessly curious and helpful to others. Here are a few lists of things I think may be of interest, especially for preachers.Books Preachers Should Read - My annotated bibliography of books on preaching and rhetoric. I update this thing often. What I'm Reading - I read a lot. I often forget what I have read recently. So, at the close of 2025, I decided to start keeping track after a long absence from doing so. Nonfiction and Fiction will be on the list. Just because I read it does not necessarily mean you should. But you should read.A Short Course on Ethics - A select collection of ethics books I have found most useful, both Christian and secular. Note - I do not agree with everything in all of these books. Welcome to ethics and complexity. My Favorite Movies - Watching movies can be invaluable to learn how storytelling, argument, arrangement, and style work. All things preachers in particular could stand to grow in. These movies are particularly helpful to me in the above-mentioned areas. They are not for everyone. You can find a list of questions I have my students consider as they watch movies here.Favorite Speeches and Sermons - All public speakers know that one of the most helpful ways to grow is to observe the work of others. As I find speeches or sermons that are particularly helpful in training me to speak, I add them to this list.

I like to talk and for some reason others want me to talk as well. Podcasts are fun. Here podcasts I run or am invited to be on.Preachers Talk - My regular podcast with Dave Helm and Ed CopelandWhat's Wrong with Sex Robots - Confronting Christianity
Better Preaching in Youth Ministry - The Word in Youth Ministry
